January 6
Today I finished the first draft of my personal statement. I did it without footnotes and appendices, but I will add those later. Also, I need to elaborate more towards the end since when I was doing it it was late and I was writing one sentence when usually I would write a paragraph. Currently, without footnotes, appendices, or elaboration, the statement is 1,850 words.
January 5
Today I started writing the personal statement. I have finished the beginning and am going to try to show it to Mr. Paul to get feedback. I will write more tomorrow.

December 18
Today I did the skit/play. It went really well, and I think the kids enjoyed it, as well as the parents. Unfortunately, due to both time constraints and the fact that I was a little bit nervous, it ended up only being a little more than three minutes. I thought that it would be more like five or seven minutes, but for some reason it was only three. Everyone I talked to, though, said that it was great. The principal, who I had been corresponding with earlier pulled me aside and told me I did a great job but I need to slow down a lot. I think I did the best I could, given the circumstances. I will try to start on my personal statement, but because of Christmas and the homework I have to do over the break, I might not be able to.
December 16
The costume fits, and everything is ready for Thursday. My practices have all been 5-10 minutes. I hope that that is the right amount, not too much or too little.
December 15
I have done a little bit more fine-tuning to the script based on how I felt it should be while I was practicing. I think I know what costume I will wear (an Arabic traditional outfit), but I will make sure tomorrow.
December 12
I was told today that I can perform my skit on the 18th at Whitman Academy. The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders have a Christmas program that day, and I will be a part of that. I hope that I can teach them something when I do my skit.
December 11
Today and yesterday I have been trying to memorize the script since I will be the one performing it. It has been pretty easy, especially since I wrote the script myself, and it's still embedded in my mind a little bit.
December 9
My dad told me that it was great but he suggested a couple of things I could add to make it even better. He also pointed out something that I didn't need, so I removed it.
December 8
Today I edited my script some more and I will show it to my dad (a pastor) to make sure it fits in with the Christmas story and to see if there is anything more I can add to it.
December 6
Next week the school that I hope to perform at is off because of Eid Al-Adha. I will make the finishing touches on my script during that time since I won't be able to perform or do anything else. This means that I will have more time to edit and improve my script because that will be all I am doing next week.
